The present study aimed to determine the physical and chemical properties of sludges from oil-water separator (OWS) and dissolved air flotation (DAF) clarifier of a refinery plant in Iran. The exploitation of novel synthetic bacterial consortia for the treatment of oily sludge has gained significant attention in recent years.
